Our new 3m concrete block has been specially designed to meet the need for a heavier alternative to our standard 3m temporary vertical concrete barrier even though it weighs in at 2½tonnes.
We saw the gap in our range of blocks for a 5 tonne block, one that was equivalent to two of our standard blocks to provide the same security measure, but in a single more convenient block. Negating the potential to separate and move the 2½tonne blocks making it more difficult to gain access to sites.
We commissioned this new mould for concrete blocks, with the first 3m 5tonne blocks recently becoming available. A regular client of ours in London has used them to provide additional security for their site, providing additional security to the perimeter temporary fencing. Five blocks were placed around the site complementing our existing 6m long concrete delta barriers and two 3m 5 tonne blocks secured the roller shutter doors to the warehouse.
The blocks are 3200 x 800 x 800mm and weigh 5 tonnes manufactured in 50N/mm2 Class A fire resistant concrete complete with M10 reinforcing bars for added strength and durability.
Each block has two 7½ tonne lifting pins cast into the top, these require a special lift clutch to safely engage our heavy duty Hiab crane designed to deliver and place these oversize blocks, making it an impregnable obstruction to intruders.
